Hello. I'm Kenton...
I assume you have come here hoping to learn a little about me, and I will try not to disappoint. Here is a little secret for you first. I hate writing about myself.
Shocking. Right?
In the end, though, a Bio is just a story, and I do love storytelling. I have for as long as I can remember. I have always read above my grade, too. The first book I remember reading on my own was Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat. And I was hooked.
Like most of us born in the 80s, my attention became dominated by screens. Trips to Blockbuster Video were common for my family and we rented movies and video games regularly. I discovered comic books and taught myself how to write Screenplays for film. My first screenplay was a 98-page feature called Dispatch. It was an ambitious science fiction tale that turned out far beyond our skills (and the capabilities of the 8mm handy cam I had) to bring to life.
After I graduated high school, the love of film never wavered, and I volunteered all my spare time with film societies and wrote tons of short films. Some of them made it to film. Some of them I converted to prose as short stories. Some I signed and gave to friends who wanted to collect my work. Most are gathering dust in ancient filing cabinets in my office.
In 2011, I retired from active duty in the Canadian Navy, and I tried my hand at the Animation industry in Vancouver, BC. I worked for Nerd Corps Entertainment as a Production Assistant on some awesome shows like Slugterra, Monster High, and Max Steel.

At the time, I was studying Concept Art and working toward an art career, but a clandestine meeting with the COO at the studio turned my attention back to writing, and my passion for prose was reborn.
It began with Legend of the Sunlight Prince in 2013. The novella was meant to be an experiment into the world of self-publishing, and the first time I had ever truly shared my stories with the world. I wanted to understand the process of publishing. Instead, I fell in love with the burgeoning world of self-publishing. The freedom, the complete creative control, the ability to tell the stories I wanted to tell the way I wanted to tell them.
It was like making a movie entirely by myself.
And thus, here we are. You know a bit about where I came from. You know some of what I have done. I hope you visit my Books page and learn about all the stories I have published and shared, and I hope you visit the Events page to learn where you could meet me in person, and sign up for my Mailing List to hear about all the projects on the go and new releases coming up. You can also engage with me on all my Social Media links below.
Storytelling is my greatest passion in life. It is my calling. I thank you for your interest in getting to know me and my work, because after all, storytelling is not a lot of fun without someone to listen (or read). If I'm being honest, I don't think that would stop me.
For the Love of Literature,
Kenton J Moore
