Cloudbreakers:
Legend of the Sunlight Prince

The Kingdom of Hai'Leigh has been at the mercy of a dark wizard for longer than most can remember. Never-ending night has brought sickness to the forests and the people. Children are captured by monsters for nefarious purpose, and the adults who leave to fight never return.

When Lynn's younger brother Ben is captured by monsters, she embarks on a journey led by hope, and discovers the courage and power within that may just save their dying world.

The Legend of the Sunlight Prince 2nd edition comes in Hardcover or Softcover, and features an updated cover, new chapters, and a re-tooled ending from the original published in 2013. You can also find and purchase it in eBook on your favourite e-reader.

“Is there any hope at all?” Lynn asked in a whisper, once more on the verge of tears. “Can the Shade Wizard be defeated?”
Surdy flickered and spun in the air. The light he shone grew brighter, and he floated closer to the ground. His light lit the bare dirt of the forest floor beneath him. Lynn watched with curiosity as Surdy began to dance in the air, his light getting brighter and brighter until he shone like a hundred candles. His voice in Lynn’s head sounded strained.
“There is always hope, Lynn.”
Lynn’s heart hammered in her chest as she used her arm to shield her eyes from the bright light. From the dirt where Surdy’s light shone, green grass started to grow. At first it happened slowly, but soon the whole spot of ground was a bright green like nothing Lynn had ever seen before. Lynn noticed two other plants growing in the center of the grass circle. They grew up high out of the ground on tall green stems. At their top, they formed disks of colorful petals. Lynn had never seen one in real life, but she knew of flowers from stories and pictures. These were daisies.

Nightcoat lifted his head and watched Surdy grow the grass and the daisies. When the petals finally reached as high as Surdy was flying, the light dimmed again, and Surdy settled down to rest on the flower as it swayed gently under his weight. By the firelight, the flower was the color of bright pink, like a fine silk. Lynn could not take her eyes off it.
“You see Lynn,” Surdy began, sitting on his daisy flower chair. He looked older somehow, as if giving life took away his own. “The beauty of life is always right here in front of us, even if we don’t notice it. Sometimes, it seems like the darkness will never end. Like everything will be black and hopeless forever, but that’s not true. Sometimes it just takes a little light to see."
